In order to reduce the harmful effects of transport on European citizens, EU has rules that strictly limit the amount of dust in the air and that regulation prohibits further urban development in places where dust levels are too high. In order to ensure European harmonisation, the EU does not allow member states to prescribe dust busters in new cars, also listening to esspecially German car lobby.
